Projects

For this project, I wanted to highlight Billie Eilish’s Early Career and pay homage to one of the earliest works of her discography entitled: Don’t Smile At Me. The interactive part of this project is when the user presses the Space Bar the title of the album appears in a demonic-looking font and plays one of my favorite songs off the album: idontwannabeyouanymore.

Wordle Project

For this project, I was assigned during my Programming 1 course to create the beloved Wordle Game by manipulating the console. The same rules apply as the normal Wordle: The player enters a word guess and the game provides feedback by highlighting letters that are correct and in the right position with a green square and letters that are correct but in the wrong position with a yellow circle. If the player guesses the word correctly within six attempts, they win the game. The game is designed to be challenging, as the player must use deduction and trial-and-error to figure out the correct word. Wordle is a simple yet addictive game that can be played in a short amount of time, making it popular among players of all ages. For a stretch opportunity, I made it so that every time the user hit the run button it would generate a random new answer word.

For this project I wanted to focus on winter by making it interactive as well as a winter wonderland. This particularly tough to get the snow to fall randomly. The interactive part about the snowman is that the scarf can change to the colors:  Blue, Purple, Pink, Orange, and Green. Also if you press the 'r' key it will switch the scarf random colors.

Strategic Sevens Project

This is a game our professor, Ashwin, came up with. The rules are as follows:
Strategic Sevens is a two player game. The goal is to be the first player to reach at least 200 points.

During each turn, a player rolls two dice:
If the sum of the dice is 7, they lose ALL the points gained that turn and the turn is over
Otherwise, the sum of the dice is added to their turn score
The player can roll both dice as many times as they want in a turn. Once they choose to stop rolling and end their turn, the turn score will be added to their overall score (and can no longer be lost to a 7).
Once the turn ends, the next player starts their turn
Special Powers
Once per game, the player may erase the last roll and roll again
Once per game, the player may double the points earned in a turn
Our goal was to create a strategy that would beat three bots of three different difficulties: Easy, Medium, and hard. I came up with three different strategies.

Black History Month Quiz

The black History Month Quiz project is an educational initiative aimed at testing knowledge and increasing awareness of African American history and culture. The quiz can be designed in various formats, such as multiple-choice questions, true/false questions, or open-ended questions. The quiz questions can cover a wide range of topics related to African American history, including but not limited to:

  • Slavery and the Civil War

  • Civil Rights Movement

  • African American contributions to arts, literature, music, and sports

  • African American leaders and activists

The project can be implemented in various settings, such as classrooms, community events, or online platforms. The quiz can be created in collaboration with students, teachers, or community members, and can be customized to fit different age groups or levels of knowledge.

The Black History Month Quiz project aims to promote awareness and appreciation of African American history and culture and to encourage dialogue and learning among individuals and communities.
